East Surrey Walkers was formed in 1983, originally as East Surrey Ramblers, and has around 400 members. We are a sociable group whose primary aim is to enjoy walking in the countryside with an interesting variety of scenery; we walk in Surrey, Kent and Sussex.
Each week we offer 3 or 4 walks with a range of distances between 3 and 12 miles. We are also active in protecting and improving the local rights of way network by members volunteering to inspect paths, and also undertaking individual maintenance tasks as well as joining our monthly work party (Ken's Krew).
We also have a programme of regular social events, and have two walking holidays each year, one abroad and one in the UK.
You are welcome to walk with us on one or two occasions before you decide whether to join.
East Surrey Walkers is part of the Surrey Area of the Ramblers, an organisation encouraging walking, and lobbying in support of footpaths, throughout Britain. Click here to see a simple diagram showing how Groups such as East Surrey Walkers fits into the national picture.
