About our Group Holidays

We are a friendly and sociable group and many of our members enjoy going on holiday together.
We tend to have two holidays a year, one abroad and one in the UK. However it is possible that we may have an extra linear holiday in the UK. Our holidays are very popular and generally about a week long.

If members stay together on a one or two centre holiday, we try to organise different levels of walking.  Options may include a long walk, when members will be walking all day, and a short walk, finishing around lunch time, or you can just go and sightsee, it is entirely up to you.  If you plan to walk every day then we recommend that you have the level of fitness to be able to walk for between three to six hours per day.

As soon as a holiday has been planned, an outline will be circulated to all members by group email.  Members will then need to book promptly if they wish to go, and pay a deposit. The member of the group who is arranging the holiday will advise on how many spaces are available.  They do fill up very quickly, so it is always done on a first come first served basis.

Our holidays are organised by our members, and we are always happy for members to come forward with ideas, and hopefully be willing and happy to help pull the holiday together.  We aim to have one person organising the holiday and another walking. The holiday can be either in the UK or abroad, anything from a long weekend to ten days - we are very flexible and open to new ideas.  If you wish to plan a holiday then please approach our Chairman in the first instance at chair@eastsurreywalkers.org.uk

You can read about our past and future holidays under Group Holiday Schedule, and see photos relating to them under our Gallery.
