East Surrey Walkers
Welcome
East Surrey Walkers was formed in 1983, originally as East
Surrey Ramblers, and has almost 300 members. We are a sociable group whose primary aim is to enjoy walking in the countryside with an interesting variety of scenery; we walk
in Surrey, Kent and Sussex.
Each week we offer 3 or 4 walks with a range of distances between 4 and 12 miles. We are also active in protecting and improving the local rights of way network by members
volunteering to inspect paths, and also undertaking individual maintenance tasks as well as joining our monthly work party (Ken's Krew).
We also have a programme of regular social events and have two walking holidays each year as well as two long weekends away.
Ramblers
The Ramblers' Association exists to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment and discovery that walking
outdoors can bring and to promote respect for the life of the countryside. The Association encourages walking, protects Rights of Way, defends the beauty of the countryside
and has campaigned for many years for freedom to roam over uncultivated, open country.
